Hey Girl!

I’m Rachel, owner of Can’t Sit Still!

I’m basically an adrenaline junkie for all things business…

I went to school clueless about what I wanted to study. I went in the direction of business and found an infatuation with all things digital marketing.

I always wanted to find a way to turn my passions into my career (which included art/design and marketing), and blogging was the way to do it! I was hesitant to get started, but when I finally did, everything changed…

I was in the same boat as you.

I worked throughout my college career and with each new job I always thought to myself “This will be the last job I get before I quit and become a full-time blogger.” That nice thought ran through job after job... But the 9-5 corporate job was not for me and I knew I wanted to get out as soon as I could. However, I was scared to death to start a blog and be unsuccessful, but I also knew that working at an unfulfilling job and waiting for PTO days and retirement to live life wasn’t worth it.

Once I graduated college, I began more intense research on how to start a blog and make money. I’m still in the process of making a full-time income from my blog, but I’m here to show you my progress, teach you things I’ve learned (so you can avoid making the same mistakes), and show you that anyone can be a successful blogger if you put your mind to it. Trust me, if I can do it, you can too!

and now I’m proving that YOU have what it takes!

Once I finally realized my dreams of becoming a blogger and finally got to work, I thought that I was making it like the rest of the “extraordinary people.”

While working on my blog, I got into reading a lot. I read so many books about improving your mindset and “secrets to success”. I learned that many people are going through the same thing I was - wishing they could be entrepreneurs, and make money doing something they love but not thinking they have what it takes to do so.

Instead of going into a marketing job (choosing the “easy way out”), I stayed at my 9-5 job, getting paid the least out of everyone else, so I could work at something that I always dreamed of. Instead of going into some marketing job - a job towards my degree - because I was told to since I was in school, I created my own path and went for it. I thought I was a special case because I didn’t believe I had the mindset of an entrepreneur, I didn’t believe I had what it took to start a business and be successful.

Then I realized as I read all these books, that a lot of people are the same way as I was. They go to college and find a degree they wouldn’t mind working in, find a job in that field, and work there the rest of their life, instead of living out their dreams and doing something they want to do instead.

If you’re currently working at a job and don’t have the “I’m going to make it to the top” attitude, you’re probably in the wrong place. I’ve gone through a few different jobs or other career ideas that sounded like something I wanted to find success in. After working and trying at them for a while, I found that my motivation went away - not because I didn’t think I could do it, but because I lost the fire and desire to work that job.

This is why I want to help YOU!

You want to start your online business, but have no clue where to go, how to do it, and how to be successful. I totally get that it is scary. But trust me when I say that you will be happy that you did it! Instead of living a life full of wondering what your life would be like, make it happen! I want to help you build the life of your dreams so that you can live the life you have always dreamed of. It doesn’t take the “right person” or “right personality” to find success in starting a successful blog. All it takes is making the first step, and continuing to the next step.

If you have the dream to do it, DO IT!

I want to work with you, connect with you, and help you through creating your blog, AND growing your blog!

Why “Can’t Sit Still”?

My husband and I joke about how I always have to be doing something. I enjoy watching TV, but it usually can’t be longer than an hour. I’m usually doing something for my blog, working on a hobby or on my body/mind in some way, or doing something with my friends and family. I chose the name to represent my passion for so many things.

I had a hard time figuring out my niche for many different reasons, one of them being that I had so many interests, and didn’t know how to narrow it down. I thought about starting an art business, a travel blog, a food blog, a lifestyle blog, a DIY blog, and so on. Once I finally picked this niche, however, I had many ideas for growth and it got me so excited for the future of this biz!

I plan to continue my courses to help people learn how to start their own blog or biz, but I’m excited to grow and develop my own biz into new and exciting areas - proving to people that it is possible to blog about more than one niche! You’ll just have to stay tuned and see how it goes;)

A little more about me

I got married at a young age to my amazing husband Gaven.

We met in high school but we joke that I would’ve never dated him then… He ended up graduating early and went to Military School for a few months.

We were randomly reunited a year or so later when I threw a small Halloween party with some friends. We had fun together and by the end of the night, he asked me on a date. I’d say the rest is history but I ended up friend-zoning him before the second date…

He still took me on the second date and we kept talking for a few weeks after and I realized it was a mistake friend-zoning him. I told him that the next time we saw each other, and from there, the rest became history;)

I’ve always been into art and design. I LOVE creating. This includes painting on a canvas or a mural on the wall, designing something on my iPad using Procreate, creating something with my pressed flowers, making something with clay, and much more.

Amongst my love for art, I also enjoy baking, spending time with my friends and family, and spending time outside (mostly hiking). I’m a Utah girl so I spend a lot of my time in the mountains when I get a chance.

I also enjoy traveling any chance that I get. So far I’ve visited Zion’s National Park, Bryce Canyon, Universal Studios Orlando, a few cities in Mexico, Honduras, The Bahamas, and New York City with my husband. I was blessed to have been able to visit many more places with my family before I got married as well. But now my husband and I are working to make our traveling dreams come true.
